Practical Information

05/11/2015 by Maja Niestroj

The question whether there is a place for philosophers nowadays and how much influence they exercise in our everyday life seems as valid as it was 25 centuries ago in the time of Socrates. It will be also the leitmotif of the conference devoted to the practical philosophy of John Lachs (presently leading American pragmatist), during which academic world meets everyday life. If you want to listen to philosophical debate about values, the art of acting ethically, relativism, the state of being in love with life or you just wish to challenge your theoretical mind, it is the place to be.

Where?

Europasaal1Conference Room: Europasaal in Mosse Palais, Voßstraße 22, 10117 Berlin, very close to Potsdamer Platz, some 10 minutes of walk from Brandenburg Gate.

Europasaal is owned by Deutsche Gesellschaft e.V., which is an association that promotes cultural events and supportes our conference.

When?

August 10-13, 2015, 9.00 AM – 16.30 PM

  • Conference on August 11-13 (list of speakers)
  • Seminar(s) for Students on August 10 (read more)

Programme available soon.

Conference fee

Since, wonderfully, we have been able to get some budget from a donator, there is no regular conference fee, entrance on voluntary donation basis. Because of the limitation of the seats, the registration is needed: info@berlinphilosophyforum.org

Therefore, we suggest speakers sending  20 Euro of donation (the word ‘DONATION’ should appear as the description of character of the payment) any time from now, directly to bank account:
