The Association (e. V.) has been founded by an international group of eight intellectuals and humanists, some of whom are philosophers, who work within academia and outside of it. They have different backgrounds and in different ways they appreciate philosophy and recognize the role of philosophical culture in many areas of social life. However, their special concern is the promotion of the philosophical ways of making individual life more interesting, better, and happier, and this is the reason why the term ‘Practical Philosophy’ is employed. Berlin has been elected as the centre of the activities of the Association members since it is a vibrant cultural and philosophical hub as such, and the careers of the members meet there, on various occasions, too. The term ‘International’ signifies that it is an open project, without any national or cultural limits, although English is its official language. Last but not least, ‘Forum’ refers to the conversational and pluralistic character of our proposals: we invite everyone who is interested in participation and support of our projects.
